Tom Newman-Borrett, well-known for his numerous sets of colourful bowls, claimed a hat-trick of titles at the Northants Bowling Federation indoor finals at Stamford IBC and will represent the county at the national finals at Lincoln in April.
The 31-year-old, won the pairs with Whittlesey Manor clubmate Ian Smith, the mixed triples with Ian and his wife Michelle and the two-bowl rinks with Mick Humphreys and Stephen Harris, who had made the 50-mile dash from Lincoln after competing earlier in the Lincolnshire county semi-finals.
However, the mixed pairs eluded Michelle and Tom when they were beaten 16-11 by Kevin and Lyn Tuck, representing the Ketton outdoor club.

It makes it that much more enjoyable and now I’m just looking forward to the finals.”
