Four-in-a-row Saints

Stamford Saints, competing in the English indoor bowls summer league, secured their fourth successive victory claiming a maximum eight points at home to Melton Try Hards.

Jeff Pitt won the singles 21-3, while the rink of Julie and Alfie Hynes, Gil Oakey and Nick Wilkie claimed a 12-4 victory. Oakey, Wilkie and Alfie Hynes won the triples 12-11 with Julie Hynes and Pitt completing the whitewash 10-7.

An away win at Charnwood will secure Saints’ place in the knockout stage.
