Fantastic Saints

Stamford Saints, a team of indoor bowlers selected to contest a national inter-club competition over the summer months, opened their account in the Fantastic Fives with a 6-2 points win at Melton IBC.

Against Melton Try Hards the Stamford IBC quintet won the fours, triples and pairs, with their only defeat - a 14-7 reverse for Jeff Pitt.

In their opening match Gill Oakey, Tony Barwell and Mick and Karen Porter won the 8-end fours 14-8 before Oakey and Pitt won the 3-bowl pairs 15-9 and Barwell and the Porters claimed the two-bowl triples 17-2. 

Stamford entertain Charnwood Oaks on June 6 with a match against Melton Cheeses to follow.
