St. Alban’s Music Director Stephen Keyl performs Americana for Organ at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Tucson on Sunday, October 23, at 3:00 p.m. The concert features Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, Charles Ives’s Variations on “America,” variations on well-known tunes by the 19th-century American virtuosos John Knowles Paine and Dudley Buck, and an arrangement of “Go Down, Moses” by W.C. Handy, famed as the Father of the Blues. In a nod to Tucson’s Hispanic heritage, the program includes organ music from 18th-century Oaxaca.
Admission is $15, seniors (60+) $10, and students $5. Tickets will be available at the door. St. Alban’s is located at 3738 Old Sabino Canyon Road, Tucson, on the west side of Sabino Canyon Road just north of River Road. Information is available at 520-296-0791.
