An experienced educator, conductor, and professional singer, Christopher Betz has served as Stagg's Choir Teacher since 2009.
Having performed in numerous operas, musicals, ensembles, and hundreds of elite choral performances through collegiate and professional organizations, Betz brings an abundance of experience to Stagg. During his undergraduate studies, he performed with a professional 10-voice ensemble in New York at the family vacation resort, Camp-of-the-WOODS for two seasons. During the pursuit of his master's degree, Betz sang with Northwestern University's Bienen Contemporary/Early Vocal Ensemble and served as the Graduate Assistant Conductor to the Alice Millar Chapel Choir. He studied education research and philosophy under Dr. Steven Demorest and Curriculum Development under Dr. Maud Hickey. Additionally, he studied conducting under Dr. Stephen Alltop and Dr. Donald Nally, and private voice under Karen Brunssen. He has also sung with the Grant Park Chorus in Chicago under the direction of Christopher Bell and is currently a cantor for St. John of the Cross Parish in Western Springs, IL.

Christopher Betz is proud to teach for District 230 and is thrilled at the development of the vocal music program at Stagg High School. We are proud to offer eight vocal ensembles to over 180 students, performing repertoire from all over the world and focusing on the cultural backgrounds of Stagg's students.

Betz currently resides with his wife Robyn and daughters Eliza and Jordan in Orland Park, IL.
