Founded in 1986 by Carl Siciliano, Sarah Jeglosky, Dan Ethier, and Claire and Scott Schaeffer-Duffy (Photo to the right includes Claire and Scott's son Justin), the Saints Francis & Thérèse Catholic Worker community offers emergency shelter to single men and women, while promoting peace and justice through education and nonviolent direct action. Their work is funded entirely by donations generated from their newspaper, The Catholic Radical. The community is inspired by the Bible, lives of the saints (especially their patrons, Francis of Assisi and Thérèse of Lisieux), papal encyclicals, and the writings of modern apostles of nonviolence, prayer, and simple living. They welcome volunteers and contributors to their paper. They are also available to give presentations on the Catholic Worker and peacemaking.
Their mailing address is: 52 Mason Street, Worcester, MA 01610. Their phone numbers are: 508 753-3588, 753-3089. Email: theresecw2@gmail.com. All editions of The Catholic Radical are available at: http://archive.org/details/catholicradical/
