I am a macroeconomist interested in monetary policy and central banking, international macroeconomics, and macroeconomic history.

I am a professor of economics and a faculty director of the Tun Ismail Ali Center of Excellence in Monetary & Financial Economics at the Asia School of Business (ASB). 

I am also a research affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and a member of the research experts panel at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Research Academy.
