    Terry Dougherty – terry.dougherty@gmail.com

Let’s start with what is happening leading up to our first actual event.  Some people are asking who will be around on Thursday evening.  The suggestion has been made to try meeting at J.K. O’Donnell’s .  Here is the website:  www.jkodonnells.com.  They have a great bar in the front and a good sized room in the back where you can reserve a table or two.  Ask for the Belleek Room.  The address is 121 W. Wayne Street and is located only a block or so from either downtown hotel.  We have rearranged some decorating events to accommodate this event so many of the committee members will be there between 6 and 9 PM.  Everyone welcome; pay for your own food and drinks; come and go as you wish. Contact Terry Dougherty – terry.dougherty@gmail.com so he can reserve enough tables.

Pre-game on Friday, Dave Eggiman has scheduled an informal, everyone invited, get-together at Rudy’s beginning around 4 PM.  Their website is:  www.rudysshop.com.  The shop is located at 409 W. Brackenridge St., less than a block away from the main entrance to the ball park.  This is a come as you are, pay as you go, leave when you want, event.  It is not a true part of the festivities but everyone is welcome. Dave Eggiman –  dweggi@hotmail.com to let him know you plan to come.

Friday Night:  Click here for a map of the ballpark including entrances and parking.  For those attending the Friday night event, please understand that I must give names to the TinCaps so that you can pick up your tickets at Will Call.  Will Call opens at 5:30 and the gates open at 5:35, is located at the main entrance only and is easily found by looking for the Indiana Tech tent set up outside the main entrance.  Our party actually begins at 6:30 PM.  Tickets will be in the name of the reunion classmate and you will need to show your ID to pick up your ticket.  Fred Orr has graciously agreed to stay at the entrance with South Side gear on to help and guide you.  You will receive a wristband that will allow you entrance to the Tuthill 400 Club. You will enter the stadium directly opposite of where our party building is and this will require a pretty long walk.  If you or anyone in your group needs assistance, simply go into the stadium and look for Guest Services to your left or right at the entrance.  That office will provide assistance to get you to the Tuthill 400 Club.  They have wheelchairs and attendants. Once you get to our area you will see a registration table where you will receive your welcome packet.  Name Tags will be there.  IMPORTANT!  Don’t lose your name tag as you will need it again on Saturday night if you are registered to attend the Gala.  As a reminder, all food and drinks are included in your ticket price but only those items offered in our party room, not at other vendors located throughout the stadium.  Please check with servers regarding gluten-free options when choosing your food.  Dress is casual!

Saturday Afternoon tour of South Side:

Click here to sign up for the tour if you haven't already done so.  The tour will begin at noon!  First of all, if you haven’t been back for a while, South Side will be hard to believe.  I will mention landmarks that you won’t remember but, trust me, you will find this easily!  Meet at the North Entrance by the flag pole off of Calhoun Street.  This is also where you will park in the big parking lot between the large Natatorium and the Football Stadium.  The old cement monster has been torn down for ages! If you have not yet signed up for the tour, don’t worry, so long as you are there at noon you are welcome even if you aren’t attending any of the other reunion events.  So, if you know of anyone in town who would like this experience, please bring them along. There are some ramps and elevators to help anyone who might have trouble with all the stairs.  The tour should take about an hour but I am certain that Mr. Davis will be willing to stay longer if you have questions!  Mr. and Mrs. Davis will be our guests at the Gala later that evening.

Saturday Golden Gala:  Our gala is in the Empyrean, located on the 26th floor of the PNC Bank Building, 110 West Berry Street, Fort Wayne, IN. , at the corner of Calhoun and Berry.  The main entrance is located on Berry Street if you are walking from your hotel.  If you are driving, you will find the garage entrance on Calhoun between Berry and Main.  Parking is secure and free in the garage.  Once in the building simply take one of the six elevators up to the 26th floor.  Please remember to wear your name tags if you received them on Friday night.  A registration desk will be located at the elevators on the 26th floor.  Festivities begin at 7 PM.  A class picture is scheduled for 7:30, so please don’t miss it!

Two Cash Bars will be available throughout the evening.  Non-alcoholic drinks will be no charge at the bar.  Waiters will pass hors d’oeuvres throughout the facility through the picture taking and the food stations will open after we have finished with the class pictures.  Don’t worry, food will be refreshed and available throughout the evening so no need to rush.  All main meal offerings are gluten-free.  Look for signage for gluten-free offerings on the salad and dessert tables.

Your welcome packets have been provided by the Fort Wayne Visitor’s Bureau and the Three Rivers Festival.  In the packet you will find all the information about what is happening through the week for the festival as well as a map of the area.  We hope you will find some time to walk around downtown and enjoy all the fun available events.  Saturday morning is the Parade and the art exhibits open at noon in the Arts Center area.  Junk Food Alley is open in Headwaters Park.  And we have arranged for Fort Wayne’s Famous Coney Island to be open for you as well as Powers Hamburgers!  Well, obviously, we didn’t arrange anything but I thought I would remind you that they are still in business!

We all hope that you are ready for a great time, lots of laughs, a few surprises, and lots of memories!  We on the committee are honored that you trusted us enough to spend money and give us time for this celebration.  You might find it interesting that with one exception none of us were more than acquaintances in high school but this experience has seen great friendships blossom.  We hope that you are able to renew old friendships and kindle new ones as well!

    WELCOME HOME!
