Thanks to everybody that came out to the SSEM Intubation Workshop on Feb 7. It was a great time and very informative. Special thanks to Dr. Reichman and Dr. Van Meter as well as all the residents that taught the workshop!
Come to our first meeting of 2013 on Friday, August 30 in MSB 3.001! Dr. Luber, UT Houston's Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director, will be speaking, and we will discuss what we have planned for the coming year.
Join us for the last SSEM meeting this semester on April 18 at 12pm in MSB 1.006 for a panel discussion with MS4s and residents. Bring your questions about preparing for, applying, and interviewing for residency! Free food for members. Hope to see you there!

Drs Malya and Noland will be talking with SSEM and SIGHT next Monday about careers in Global Health within Emergency Medicine!
Dr Malya is the UTHSCH's Global Health Fellowship Director and Dr Noland is the Assistant Director. Get ready for a talk about Emergency Medicine, practicing medicine with limited resources, and saving the planet! That's right, we go big around here.
Usually the shadowing calendar gets updated on the first of the month. On the first of this month, I think we were all a little preoccupied. But it's updated now that the semester's ready to get going! Go spend some quality time with the doctors you want to be!
Note there's one odd shift with Dr Oakes on 2/2 that is from 7p to 7a. If you want to shadow that shift you don't need to be there for 12 hours* and we can schedule times that work with you and Dr Oakes.
