Student Society of Emergency Medicine (SSEM)
maintained by University of Texas at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School Students

The Student Society of Emergency Medicine is an emergency medicine interest group (EMIG) formed and maintained by medical students at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. We are a nonprofit organization designated to facilitate, enrich, and expand the emergency medicine interests of its members by promoting the access to practical skills sessions, emergency departments, and practicing emergency medicine physicians within the community. SSEM works to provide more information about the specialty and equip medical students with the information and resources to become active in the field of Emergency Medicine.

Next BLS class TBA

SSEM's CPR-instructor certified officers will be teaching an AHA approved Healthcare Provider Level Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR class for all interested MS1's.  Come get certified so you can be prepared for your experiences during the Summer Preceptorship Program and for future shadowing (especially in the ER).  Adult, child and infant CPR will be taught, as well as how to use a bag valve mask and AED.
