I am currently Professor of Economics at the University of Trento (Italy), where I am affiliated with the School of International Studies and the Department of Economics and Management, where I am part of the EMiL research group on Empirical Microeconomics.
Also, I am Research Fellow at the Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Économiques (OFCE) in France, and a member of the CESifo Research Network.
I earned a PhD in Economics and Management from the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa (Italy) in June 2005.
My research work develops around two main themes:
studying the behavior of firms in international markets, with special emphasis on the market imperfections and financial frictions;
using complex network analysis to investigate the structure and evolution of international trade flows, in particular trade in agricultural goods.
Last but not least, I am the proud father of Maria, Anna, and Caterina.
