I am Professor of Economics at the University of Trento (Italy), working both at the School of International Studies and at the Department of Economics and Management. 

Also, I am Research Fellow at the Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Économiques (OFCE) in France, and a member of the CESifo Research Network.

I earned a PhD in Economics and Management from the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa (Italy) in June 2005.

My research work develops around two main themes:

• studying the behavior of firms in international markets, with special emphasis on the market imperfections and financial frictions;

• the relationship between international trade and food security, often using network analysis to investigate the structure and evolution trade flows and the diffusion of shocks.

Last but not least, I am the proud father of Maria, Anna, and Caterina.
