07/17/2012 - Alarmingly High Dioxane Level

Pall's June data sampling includes an alarmingly high level of 1,4-dioxane in the groundwater at MW-5d...
102,568 ppb on June 15, 2012.

This is the highest level of contamination found in the groundwater at the whole site since before the core cleanup began in 1997.

The previous high reading for that location was 146,000 ppb on January 17, 1992

Since MW-5d is in the core area on the Pall/Gelman property where the contamination originally happened, it would suggest that the cleanup there is less than 1/3 done.

With the recent reduced purging, cutbacks on monitoring, and surprises like this 102,568 ppb reading, it is more important than ever for the State to demand that Pall provide all parties unrestricted access to Pall's well data and monitoring of Waters of the State so that all analyses draw from the same datasets.
