07/09/2015 -Long Term Thinking Needed

An SRSW email to the DEQ and others July, 9, 2015:

For an example of why everyone needs to think very, very long term (many, many decades more) regarding 1,4-dioxane contamination at the Gelman/Pall/Danaher site, one need only look at MW-1/MW-1-replacement well results... ~150 feet downgradient from an ongoing dioxane source (MW-5d) and on an upward trend with highest ever ppb readings in the 1000s even after a return to single digits for 3+ years 10 years ago...

The DEQ rules need to be tightened to account for highly mobile, very persistent compounds like dioxane.

Reality matters.
