Detroit Youth Volume - Sponsored by SRO

NEWS FLASH:
This recent article in the Detroit News helps show the impact of music in the life of one of our students.

In 2010, our own Clara Hardie founded a program to bring string education to students in the Rosa Parks Youth Program from the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit.  The musical education of these students has since been supported through generous donations from the SRO community, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and others. Now beginning its fourth season, Detroit Youth Volume has already learned from and performed with artists such as local rapper & Kresge Performing Arts Fellow, Invincible, as well as DSO bassist Rick Robinson. The group recently gave an exciting performance at the SRO 2013 FiddleFest. With your continued support, we hope to provide similar educational and performance opportunities through this program to Detroit-area youth for years to come!
