   Professional Experience:

INSPIRE Faculty Fellow, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Sep 2017 - Present

Demonstrated the dependence of lattice rotation of grains in Al-Mg alloy on the misorientation and grain boundary segment shared with immediate neighbors using in-situ EBSD experiments.

Studied the difference in the kinetics of texture development in Al-Mg alloy under high strain rate tensile deformation via SHTB experiments in comparison with quasi-static deformation.

National Post Doctoral Fellow, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Jan 2017 - Aug 2017

Proposed a small-scale patterning procedure based on chemical etching to study the microstructural strain evolution in Al-Mg alloy using digital image correlation.

Post Doctoral Fellow, McMaster University, August 2015 - August 2016.

Developed a simple and effective test specimen patterning procedure based on chemical etching to study the microstructural damage evolution of Mg alloys using digital image correlation.

Employed incremental image correlation approach to study the heterogeneous microstructural strain evolution of AZ31 Mg alloy up to large applied plastic strains with minimal decorrelation and error.

Senior Research Fellow, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, August 2011- May 2015.

Studied the dissipative heat power evolution accompanying Lüders plastic instability in mild steel for quantitative analysis of the kinematics of localization without the effect of thermal diffusion.

Demonstrated the inhomogeneous yielding behavior of ferrite and bainite phases in welded mild steel accompanying yield point phenomenon based on the associated thermomechanical couplings.

Junior Research Fellow, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, August 2009-July 2011.

Demonstrated the kinematics of localization accompanying plastic instability in low carbon steels using temperature and strain evolutions, addressing the influence of microstrain localization on the deformation band nucleation.

Validated the instability models and proposed concepts on the deformation band growth mechanism with additional insights which were not predicted by them.
