How to Join

Are you ready to join CAP as an active youth or adult member?  Here’s how to get started.

Step 1.  Contact the Squadron
Use the information on the Contact Us page to confirm a meeting date, time, and location.  You can also take the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.  Please keep in mind that all of our members are volunteers.  We try to respond to membership inquiries as soon as possible, but please give us a day or two to respond.

Step 2.  Visit the Squadron
The best way to learn more about what CAP is all about is to attend a meeting.  You’ll have a chance to see how our meetings are run, what type of activities we conduct, and ask any questions you may have.  We recommend that you attend at least three meetings, as we do not perform every aspect of our cadet program in every meeting.  This will also give you the opportunity to meet and get to know our people.

Step 3.  Fill Out a Membership Application
After attending a few meetings, if you decide to join, you can fill out the online application.  You should also stop by our squadron office to pick up a few Medical Forms which must be completed and returned to the squadron office.  To apply for cadet membership online, click here.

Adults who desire to help out around the squadron are also encouraged to join CAP.  Senior members must complete a fingerprint card, which is used to perform a background check.   The fingerprint card can be completed at your local police station.  To apply for a senior membership, click here to download the senior member application.  Return the completed application with the fingerprint card to the squadron office..

When filling out the application, use the following information (as appropriate):
  • Wing:  PA
  • Unit:  160
  • Region:  NER
  • Charter Number: NER-PA-160
  • Unit Name:  Willow Grove Squadron 902

Useful information about our program and the uniform items you will need can be found in our Welcome Packet. Click here to download our welcome packet

NOTE:  Membership dues vary by state.  Make sure you check the dues amount before submitting your application.  An incorrect dues amount will delay application processing.  If paying dues by check, it must be made out to:  Civil Air Patrol.  To view the current membership dues table, click here.
