Prime Factor Math Circle
and the Lucky Pen School
invite you to a Spring Math Festival!

We invite all young students, who like mathematics and share a passion for games, problem solving, and hands-on math activities, to come to our Festival.

The Spring Math Festival is an event for an entire family that brings together kids, parents and math enthusiasts for a fun and interactive exploration of recreational mathematics.

At the Festival, the children (ages 5-12) and their parents can:

  • play games and solve puzzles
  • solve tricky problems
  • explore hands-on math demonstrations
  • build and construct with blocks, shapes, and paper
  • make Mobius strips and flexagons
  • encode and decode secret messages
  • and engage in many more fun math activities

Our Festival is designed for learning and playing with mathematics in a self-guided environment. There are no classes, teachers or time limits. Instead, kids and adults work together at 20+ math stations, with each station dedicated to a specific activity. During the Festival, the kids visit a variety of stations, choosing topics that are interesting to them and working at each station at their own pace.

We have a great team of volunteers, both adults and high-school students, who are happy to problem-solve, build, and play for three hours straight. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Festival!

Attention: Our Festival is looking for volunteers!

We need volunteers to help us organize and run this event. Our last two festivals (2014 and 2015) were brought together by a team of 40+ volunteers:  math circle instructors, parents, high-school students, and other math enthusiasts.  Organizing a Math Festival is an enjoyable and valuable experience - join us! Testimonials from 2014 and 2015 Festivals:

"My child loved the Festival! Thank you for organizing it!"

"Made a discovery about my kids! My daughter solved all logic problems, and I didn't expect that at all. And my son surprised, too - he stayed engaged with block building and games for such a long time."

"My kids are not very interested in math, and weren't excited to go. But they really liked the activities, and they enjoyed the Festival. We can't wait for the next one!"
