COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Principles of Healthcare 2 is a year-long course that is designed to help students develop job related skills and continue career exploration into the Health Sciences they researched in Principles of Healthcare 1. This course will educate future healthcare providers about ethics, skills, and patient wellbeing. It is designed to provide for the development of multi-occupational knowledge and skills related to a wide variety of heath careers. Students will have hands-on experience for continued knowledge and skill development.

Topics studied include Legal Issues in Medicine, Employability & Professional Skills, Ethical Practices & Cultural Diversity in Medicine, Safety & Technical Practices, including AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Certification, Job Shadows and Community Service.
