LIBRARY POLICIES

Computers

There are 5 public access computers available for patrons to use 2 young adult computers and 2 children computers, which have filters on them.

There are no time limits on computer use.  Please note that if someone needs a computer for a project or specific use, the patron who is using a computer for recreation will be asked to relinquish the computer to the person who needs it.

Children are limited to 1 hour for recreation, but unlimited for homework use.

Copies and prints may be made for $.15 black and white and $.75 for color.

Faxes may be sent out but NOT received.  The cost is $2 for the first page and $.50 per page after that, no cost for the cover sheet

Circulation

Circulation policies are instituted to ensure that library materials are available to all patrons on  an equal basis. To guarantee the availability of these materials, the Library sets limits of length of borrowing, number of renewals, reserves and fees.
The Library determines who is eligible to borrow materials. The Library will issue a library card, without charge, to all residents of Sprague with proof of residence.
If you lose your library card, there is  $1.00 replacement fee.
Young people under the age of 16 must have the accompanying signature of a parent or guardian before a card will be issued.
A patron is responsible for all materials checked out under their card, and parents/guardians are responsible for all materials checked out under a child's card even if they are not present at the time of the checkout.
A patron is liable for any damages which may occur to library materials while they are in their possession.

Internet Access

The Internet offers unlimited global access to information.  The Sprague Public Library does not monitor or control the content of materials available through this medium.  Parents or guardians of children under the age of 16 are responsible for their child's use of the Internet (as they are for all books/materials used by the children in their charge).

The Sprague Public Library is also WI-FI accessable.

Loan Periods

All books can be checked out for 3 weeks, and can be renewed by calling the library at 822-3012 or by going online (see main page and click on patron account Information).  Late fees for books are 10 cents per item, per day.

DVDs and magazines are checked out for 1 week and DVDs cannot be renewed.  Only 3 DVDs  can be checked out to a patron at a time.  Late fees for DVDs are $1.00 per day, per item.

The total Late Fees may not exceed $25.00.  If fines go above this amount or if there are more than 3 overdue items borrowing privileges may be suspended or modified at the discretion of the Director.

Lost Items

Patrons will be charged the full replacement cost of the lost item, plus a $2.00 processing fee.
