Bowling Section

Due to limited number of ladies, the Barry Holmes Trophy competition between the ladies and gents, scheduled for Saturday 8th. June, has been postponed.

Visitors Welcome at any of the afternoon sessions

We welcome anyone that wants to come and try the game of bowls or those looking for a club in which to play.

Please feel free to turn up at 2:15pm for a 2:30pm start when we welcome you to the club and loan you some bowls if you don't have any of your own.  We will take a tea break around 3:30pm when we all break for around 15mins to partake of refreshments and a general social chat before resuming on the green until around 4:45pm.

If you feel that you'd like to join then that can be arranged or if you feel that you'd like a couple more games before making up your mind, we can accommodate you.  You could even play as a guest for a £3 charge per afternoon session.

You're always welcome to come and join in, except maybe for match days, when you can come and watch the games.
Bring a friend if you wish! And bring some fine weather please!

For match and inter-club results, please see the relevant pages.

Links to the various pages etc. can be found on the left hand side.

Captain's Corner

This is the area you'll find reports on the various matches played and other comments that the Captain's wish to make.

The captains and vice-captains for 2019 are. Ladies Captain: Sue Bates. Ladies Vice-Captain: Pat Humphreys. Men's Captain: Ray Vanstone. Vice-Captain: Mike Humphreys.

The page is well worth a visit if you want to see how we're progressing in our various matches and competitions.

Away Matches

Travel to away matches is normally arranged between groups of participating members and an informal agreement exists that any member providing the transport should be compensated at the rate of £2 per passenger towards fuel + insurance costs.

With the current costs of fuel & insurance, please be mindful of making a contribution to your host driver

Visitor Fees

Visitors wishing to play on the club green are welcome but please ensure that they sign the visitor's book (available in the club house), and that the playing fee of £3.00 per day is collected and passed to our membership secretary.

Visitors playing during the normal club afternoon and evening sessions will be expected to play in the team they are picked for at that time.

Any member wishing to play outside the normal club sessions may do so, but will require a key to gain access to the clubhouse facilities - see Sue Bates for a set of keys.

League Play

We play on a daily basis amongst ourselves, drawing names out of a hat so to speak on the day and compete internally amongst ourselves for various cups as detailed on the Fixtures List. We also play a number of other clubs in the area on a friendly, non-league basis.

We don't play in any County leagues, so if you're looking for a club that plays in the Staffordshire League then you might like to visit the Staffordshire County Bowling Association Site for a list of other clubs that might be more suitable for your requirements.

We do have a team in a local league, called the Baddesley Mine Bowling League, and home games take place on a Tuesday evening.
