Hi! My name is Carlos Ospino. I am an independent economist based in Medellin, Colombia, specializing in labor markets, poverty measurement, and applied microeconometrics. I previously worked as an Economist at the Poverty and Equity Global Practice of the World Bank (2020-2026) and at the Labor Markets Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (2016-2020). I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes (2016). My primary areas of interest include:
Poverty measurement and distributional impacts of public policies.
Labor market analysis and informality in Latin America.
The intersection of machine learning and econometrics for causal inference.
Impact evaluation and wage dynamics.
