  • Welcome Back Spartan Orchestra Families!! Hello everyone!!  Welcome back to another great year here at North Springs Charter High School! Hard to believe that summer is over and school is back in session. We have so many great things in store for the 2013-2014 season!! Please continue to use this website and/or the Facebook group (NSCHS Orchestra) to stay current of events and things for the orchestra classes! I wanted to take a brief moment to say that we are having our second annual Back to school Pot luck family dinner and info meeting for the music department on Tuesday, Augest 20th at 6:30pm in the cafeteria at school followed by ensemble specific break out sessions in the music rooms.   • We Need Baked Goods!! Sorry for the very short notice. However, we are trying to have an impromptu bake sale during the concert on THursday night. If you are willing to bake/buy some delicious treats and sell them to earn money for the Disney trip, please help out. All treats need to be individually wrapped.   I figure cookies can be 3-4 in a bag (or 2-3 depending on the size of cookie), all other thigns can probabloy be one per bag. Use yoru best judgement. Please consider helping out as we raise funds for our great DIsney trip!

  • Weekly Update and Reminders 9/17/12 Hey everyone!Just a couple of announcements for the week:On Monday: Concert Orchestra (6th period) and Symphonic A (4th period) have after school rehearsalsOn Tuesday: Chamber (3rd period) and Symphonic B (7th period) have after school rehearsalsI need to know by end of day Tuesday if you plan on staying after school for the concert so I can order food. NO RSVP= NO FOOD!ALL ORCHESTRA CLASSES HAVE FINAL PLAYING TESTS ON THE BLOCK DAYS OF THIS WEEK!! PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!Concert is THURSDAY, SEPT. 20 @ 7 pm. Call time is 6 pm.   • NSCHS Music Dept. is Disney bound!! Hello everyone!!   We are thrilled to say that the North Springs Music Department will be competing in the 2013 Festival Disney Music Competition in March of 2013. We are super excited about this trip as a department and looking foward to the preparation and performance! The total cost of the trip is $575 per person. Under the FORMS tab on the website you will find the DISNEY info packet. In this packet there is an info letter, Itinerary, fee payment schedule, contract agreement, and T-shirt design logo.   • Back to School Meet and Greet Pot Luck...and MORE! Hello Everyone!!   Welcome back to NSCHS for the 2012-2013 school year! Things are going great and off to an AWESOME start!! Our trophies from last May's competition at SIx Flags came in this summer and are displayed in the Orchestra room! Classes are growing and we are already making arrangements for the Disney trip in March.   This Friday- August 24th is our first annual Meet and Greet Pot Luck. (Letters went out today to students to bring home). Familes for both Band and Orchestra are invited to attend this event to mingle, meet, and establish great relationships and connections with our aweseme music department.   • Welcome Spartan Orchestra Members and Families!! Hello All Spartan Orchestra Famiies (returning and new!)   This year is already off to a good start and class hasn't even officialy started. With the new Student Leadership group formed and working, I know we are all in great hands! I would like to first and foremost tell/remind everyone that the first major event for this year is the Orchestra Student and Parent meeting on Thursday, Aug. 18th at 7pm in the orchestra room (E110). It is extremely important that all families attend this meeting.   • Fall Fundraiser has hit the ground running!! Today (Friday 9/10/10) was a great day. We had our fundraising representative, Elisabeth Jonas, from Encore Fundraising come out and kick off our Fall fundraiser. We are selling gourmet cakes, pies, and cookie dough. The kids had an amazing time in class with Ms. Jonas as she taught them how to sell items without going door to door.
