Day courses

Hosted at Leeson House the Space Explorers Academy day courses offer a taste of skills that will lead you into more complex developments.  The cost is around 40 GBP per student for a full day including materials and tuition in a small group. The courses range from electronics skills, to crystal maze style science challenges and are great fun as well as educational.

Small group tuition means that like-minded students can get together and really get stuck in with fun and education.

Do you like testing things to destruction?

Could you build a space suit, would it survive the ravages of space, piece by piece you will solve the puzzle by performing experiments, testing materials to destruction and hopefully creating a working model.

Needless to say there will be fire, projectiles things breaking in vacuums, the possibility of loud bangs and some really cool resistant materials.

Mission control (MC) £45

Imagine if you could intercept signals right out of the air, track satellites, decode their information or even have a shot at listening in to the astronauts on board the ISS.

It may seem like science fiction, but in true James Bond style this course covers techniques and technology that can do just that.

From electromagnetic theory, making your own aerials, working with the software and developing skills and equipment that you can carry on with at home; this course really does bring science fiction to life.

Course includes radio decoder and aerial to take home for use on your own computer.
