Italian Sausage Skillet Dinner
1 pound Italian sausage
2 cloves garlic
1 24-ounce jar chunky spaghetti sauce*
2 cups water
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 ounces (2 cups) uncooked radiatore pasta (small ruffles)**
1/4 cup parmesan cheese

Brown sausage in a 12-inch skillet (remove casings if applicable) over medium-high heat until cooked through.  Add garlic and continue cooking for 2 minutes.

Add spaghetti sauce, water, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper and stir to combine.  Add pasta and cook until sauce starts to boil.  Reduce heat to medium-low, cover skillet and continue cooking for 12 minutes; stirring occasionally. 

Remove skillet from heat, stir in parmesan cheese and let stand, uncovered for 5-10 minutes or until sauce has thickened. Stir once more before serving.

*such as Prego Chunky Garden.  If you don’t use a chunky sauce, you may need to reduce the water by 3-4 tablespoons.
