Cherry Dump Cake

aka Jenn’s Nana’s Awesome Good Dump Cake

aka I Kinda Want to Call This a Shortcut Cobbler But Don’t Want to Make Nana Mad

1 20-oz can cherry pie filling

1 20-oz can crushed pineapple in syrup, undrained

1 box yellow cake mix

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted

1 cup (4-oz) sliced almonds


Dump cherry pie filling into a 13x9 baking dish and spread evenly. Dump crushed pineapple (with juice or syrup) evenly on top of pie filling. Dump cake mix evenly over fruit. Drizzle melted butter over dry cake mix then top with sliced almonds. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve hot with ice cream or cold with whipped cream or just enjoy it as-is!


*substitute other pie fillings and nuts if desired
