Who are the Southwind Players?

The Southwind Acoustic Players is a group of musicians ranging in ability from beginner to "comfortable."   We meet every Monday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 in the DietertCenter at 415 Guadalupe Street in Kerrville.

Come join us if you play any acoustic instrument and would like to practice and play with others. This group grew out of Club Ed’s dulcimer classes, and we are made up of players of all abilities who get together weekly to enhance skills, move beyond the basics, and just to play and have fun. Most members play mountain dulcimers, but we welcome all acoustic instruments: guitar, fiddles, harmonica, mandolin, etc. We focus on traditional mountain/old time, celtic, hymns, and holiday music. We have opportunities to perform in public occasionally. You can choose to join us for performances or just come for the playing.

The 2pm – 3pm hour each week is for new players, or players who just want to work at a slower pace.

The 3pm – 5pm time is spent in a traditional jam style of playing, with each player having the opportunity to choose the next song from our File Cabinet of Songs

For more information: Jim Myers – 257-7667; Sara Vaughan – 367-5758. Internet will be needed to access the music played.
