South Shore Genealogy Society
Meetings held
At the Hanover Public Library.
We meet at the John Curtis Free Library, on Rt 139 Hanover, MA at one on the second Saturday of the month from September through June.
When our Charter was drawn up in 1983, a group of interested people met at the historic James Library in Norwell, MA. Their purpose was to bring together those who shared a common interest in searching for and learning their family history.
Today our society is made up of beginners, amateurs and professionals who work within the highest ethical standards to learn, educate, assist and disseminate to our members sources, techniques, and methods required to learn the history of their family.
Our members come from many parts of the world. Consequently, they search early ancestry throughout the United States and many foreign countries.
The ethnicity of our members is diverse each with specific need which our Society tries to fill.
We welcome new members, who will further enrich our society with new experiences, challenges and opportunities to learn.
