March 15: Author Talk - Author Robert Devine will speak at the Southport Memorial Library on March 15th at 10am. Speaking to his second book, Ketchup in My Veins, he will describe his ten years in the fast food industry, namely working for the McDonald Company which is not only in America but worldwide. Being in the right place at the right time proved beneficial for this author. It was in this setting, coupled with his badly needing a job, that he entered the McDonald workforce in 1967. For the next ten years he witnessed and participated in the development of one of the greatest companies in fast food. He feels privileged to have known and travelled with Ray A. Croc, founder of the McDonalds Corporation.
Ketchup in My Veins is Robert Devine’s second published novel. He is also a water color artist, still life photographer, short story writer, woodworker and gardener. Growing up in New England he moved to California after high school to attend the Brooks Institute of Photography at Santa Barbara. Upon leaving Brooks, he spent 10 years with American Airlines in their flight maintenance department before joining McDonalds Corporation as a manager trainee in Los Angeles. He lives in Boothbay, Maine.
