Middleton Park is a hidden gem of a cricket ground in Oxfordshire, boasting over 200 years of cricketing glory. Set in the grounds of Middleton Park, it never fails to impress and attract players to this fixture. There was a toss and MSCC had a bat. Mitchelmore and Ackland-Snow opened up with tight bowling not allowing MSCC to get a fast start. I (captain) then had to depart to the field to take an urgent work call. On my return, there was one over left, so we have to assume everyone bowled, fielded, batted and umpired brilliantly. SOA batters got to work quickly with Tom Tanners powerful hitting, eventually finishing 50 not out to win the game with a few overs to spare. Socially distanced drinks after the game with Freddie Price's mobile bar providing some additional refreshment for the players. We look forward to this fixture next year and the return of the MSCC post match BBQ.
