2020 President : Frankie Crouch

Latest News

To All Members and Friends of the SOA

Dear members

I hope that you, your family and friends are well and that you are enjoying some well deserved cricket.

I want to share with you some exciting news about the club presidency in 2021 and 2022.

Frankie Crouch, this year's SOA President, and Alex Wildman - the President Elect- have agreed to continue their current roles into next season. This, we all hope, will mean that Frankie will be be able to enjoy a full year as President in 2021, including a Western Tour next August. The club will benefit from his energy and enthusiasm, with the luxury of having Alex in the pavilion, yet to bat.

Of course, Frankie and Alex have put a lot of work in already, helping to make this short season so successful; so the club is grateful and thrilled they are so keen to continue making such important contributions to a strong SOA.

A quick reminder: there are still 6 SOA games to be played this season. Details on the website.

Finally, the Annual Dinner for 2020 has been cancelled as it will not be possible to stage it in the current environment.

We are however very pleased to say that our good friends at Oxford Downs are happy to accommodate a picnic for SOA members and friends at the final SOA match of the season on Sun Sept 13th. Bring your own picnic and rugs, maintain social distancing, take all rubbish home, and it would be appreciated no BYO alcohol but instead use the bar facilities at Downs.

All the very best

Steve Wilson

Hon. Secretary

2019 SOA Dinner

An enjoyable Annual Dinner was held at the Cotswold Lodge Hotel on Saturday 9 November with an interesting and engaging presentation from World Cup winner Lydia Greenway. The presidency passed from Tom Scrase to Frankie Crouch and Alex Wildman was announced as the President Elect for 2021.
