People of all ages are invited to participate in this fun event to benefit Meals On Wheels of Chemung County.
These are bike rides (not races) for people in three age categories: children, adults and seniors.

Southern Tier Bicycle League

 

Mission: It is the mission of the STBL to promote year-round bicycling in the Southern Tier of New York through educational and recreational cycling activities for people of all ages and abilities.

 

Vision: To have the New York Southern Tier region be a great place to bicycle, with appealing cycling activities all year long.

• The STBL leads the way through effective regional programs for cycling safety, rides, races, children's events, facilitating community to work and school and providing bikes to persons in need.
  
• The STBL is the primary source for regional information on the benefits of bicycling including better health and reducing our impact on the environment.
  
• The STBL is an effective advocate for expanding cycling opportunities in the region, including participation in planning, implementation and management of bike trails and routes.

Get Involved: Ride or race, volunteer to help, donate money, donate bicycles for adult transportation, donate bicycles for kids.

• Do a ride or race - it is fun, you will meet some very nice people, benefit from great exercise, and your registration and donations go to a good cause.
  
• Volunteer to help with an event - Help us organize and run one of the events. Help the community and meet some wonderful people. There are plenty of opportunities. Example tasks: register participants, drive or accompany a car to follow riders, corner safety monitor, basic bike repair, event photographer, assist the event organizer.
  
• Donate money, used adult bicycles, used kids bikes - money will go towards event expenses like bike repair parts and cycling related event prizes such as flashing lights, high visibility stickers, tire patch kits and bike locks. Used adult bicycles in good condition are refurbished and provided to adults in need of low cost transportation. Used kids bikes in good condition are refurbished and raffled to local children at the Juneteeth event each June. We also refurbish around 10 bikes early December to help kids in need have a better Christmas. All donors will receive a letter or email thanking them and giving the name of the associated tax deductible organization.
