Titan Summer Challenge

The South Central Calhoun Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is once again challenging SCC Elementary and Middle School students to collect the following items over summer break.

Each student that collects and returns any of these items to school in the Fall will be entered to win a prize!  Returning items trimmed, sorted, and counted is appreciated.

SCC PTO has had another busy and successful school year!!

We want to thank students, staff, parents, and community members who have helped to support PTO’s efforts in contributing to our students’ education over the past year.  The money earned through the collections programs, membership dues, and book fairs have enabled us to:

  •  Contribute to class field trips
  • Sponsor an educational visit from the Science Center of Iowa for the elementary and middle school students
  • Purchase a projector for the middle school computer lab
  • Purchase four ipads for the 4th grade
  • Sponsor an ipad training course for elementary teachers
  • Contribute to student scholarships
  • Purchase books for the elementary and middle school libraries
  • Sponsor the showing of the Polar Express in the elementary school
  • Provide books to elementary classrooms
  • Purchase two Kindle Fire for middle school Title One Reading program
  • Fund teacher and staff appreciation items
  • Provide welcome bags to new students
  • Fund supplemental curriculum programs in the elementary
  • Purchase requested classroom supplies
  • Contribute to the Folk Dance/Cultural event at the elementary school
  • Contribute to Prom
  • Sponsor Book Fairs in elementary and middle schools
  • Help fund the roller-skating program in the elementary and middle school
