Katie Wolfe (Seniors & ETC)

Katy Wolfe Zahn
’s love for her work sparks contagious enthusiasm within her students. Katy’s studies include Master of Music/Opera Performance from the University of Tennessee and Music Education/Music Performance from the Belmont University, Nashville. As a featured soloist in various musicals and operas, church soloist, high school vocal coach and teacher, high school choir, band and drama teacher, university choreographer, show choir workshop clinician, director and private instructor, Katy has punctuated her career with stints in all facets of music performance and education. Katy’s honors are numerous including recipient of University of Tennessee’s Graduate Music Apprenticeship, First Place Winner N.A.T.S. Competition, Sigma Alpha Iota Performance Scholarship and winner of Concerto Aria Competition at Belmont University. She is employed at the University of Tennessee as the MFA Voice Teacher. She has been seen with the Knoxville Symphony in their Family Concert Series and as Aldonza in “Man of LaMancha” at Clarence Brown Theatre. Currently, Katy resides in Oak Ridge with her husband Glenn and their children Jonah and Amelia. She is honored to work with the tremendously talented Sound Company family.

Terry Silver-Alford (Seniors & ETC)

Terry Silver-Alford 
is a member of the UT Theatre faculty and teaches Musical Theatre Performance, Introduction to the Theatre and Acting. Prior to joining the UT faculty Mr. Alford held the positions of Director of Musical Theatre at The University of Tulsa, and at The University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. He has worked professionally in the theatre as a director, musical director, performer and composer at theaters across the country, including the California Theatre Center, Madison Repertory, Omaha Playhouse, Augusta Barn, Fireside Theatre, Light Opera of Oklahoma, Oak Ridge Playhouse and the Clarence Brown Theatre. Terry has directed or musically directed over 100 productions and has created the scores for four original musicals and a variety of chamber and vocal music pieces. He earned his MFA in Directing from The University of Tennessee in 1984 and a Master of Music degree from Western Michigan University in piano and composition in 1991. Mr. Alford regularly directs, composes and musically directs for the Clarence Brown Theatre. Terry wishes to thank the amazing Sound Company board, and all the SC kids and families for all their support.

Simon Hogg (Juniors)

Simon Hogg
delighted to serve as the Juniors Director, having assisted with the Juniors in the past. Simon grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland. From a young age he contributed a large portion of his time to music, which quickly grew into a passion. Simon was the youngest person to be awarded an organ scholarship by the Church of Ireland. Simon studied organ and choral directing at Downpatrick Cathedral, (the burial place of Saint Patrick) and Belfast Cathedral. He became heavily involved in many leading ensembles, including the Ulster Youth Choir and Belfast Cathedral Youth Choir. At sixteen he took up the position of organ scholar at Bangor Abbey, Northern Ireland. Later becoming Director of Music, he oversaw numerous concerts and his choir was invited to be visiting choir in residence at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. He was music director for the ecumenical XII St Columbanus Festival, during which he was honored to be invited to accompany Sony Record artists 'The Three  Priests'. Simon was also musical director for the Bangor Abbey Players, a community drama group which regularly presented musical productions and pantomimes.

Simon graduated from the University of Ulster on 2010 with a bachelors degree in music. He relocated to Tennessee in 2010 to pursue graduate studies in organ and conducting with John Brock and Dr. Angela Batey. He was recipient of the Diversity Fellowship from the graduate school in for 2010-2011 and coordinated a choir tour to Ireland for the UT Chamber Singers in Summer 2012. ​​ Simon graduated in Spring 2015 from UT with two masters degrees from UT in choral conducting and organ performance. He has given many recitals by invitation. He has presented for the American Guild of Organists Knoxville Chapter. In Summer 2015 he traveled with the UT Chamber Singers to England as organist, performing in Canterbury Cathedral, St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. Simon serves as Music Director at St Stephens Episopal Church in Oak Ridge. He also serves as a musician for Shannondale Retirement Communities in Maryville. Outside of music, Simon has a keen interest in aviation and travel.

Michelle Goethert (Sound Company Too!)

Michelle Goethert
has been a teacher of elementary music in Oak Ridge for the past 24 years, and has been the accompanist for the Toos for 8 years. Michelle graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in music education and French horn performance. She holds a Masters degree from UT in Music Performance.
