March 1st

Dear Son's Chapel Volunteers,

WHEW! Which do I chose to ascribe significance of today - MARCH 1st? Shall it be March arriving as a lion (per 25 mph winds and 3/4" rain, but void of the forecasted storm)? or AR Primary Election Day (with "oh!" so many presidential candidates/calls/solicitations/political ads/rallies)? or as a more jovial decree, as "National Peanut Butter Day"? The latter gave us far more joy, with N bringing peanut butter cookies, and peanut butter/crackers to share with 19 quilters/stitchers.

What an unexpected pleasure it was to open the Chapel this morning, finding the floors all clean/waxed/glimmering, and EVERYTHING re-assembled, all returned to its proper place! Thanks to E and T and all who responded to her Saturday work plea. Heard you'd formed a "chair-brigade" to get all the chairs and items down the steps from the Chapel. She called it a "furniture line" (not "line-dancing", nor a shackled chain-gang, wearing orange or black/ white stripes)! Then even sweeping/cleaning the Chapel. Your extra time and work are greatly appreciated, enabling us to resume Tuesday quilting undelayed! T~H~A~N~K~S TO ALL!

For "show and tell" B brought in the finished New Orleans map quilt top; DJ made a knitted, aqua quilt/throw; and G's first big, quilt of strips. A couple stoped to see the Chapel; their mother in CA saw the "Son's Chapel Anniv/Open House" AP article from the AR Democrat Gazette! WOW!! They've promised to bring the article and join us for Soup Lunch.

QUILTING NEWS: N quilted the blue, animal squares quilt. Two quilt tops were sewn - both "sleepy bears". Two quilts were sandwiched, with N taking the "Dapper Dan" and S the girls' baseball quilts home.
