I am a senior in the marine biology research program at the New York Harbor School. Over the course of two years I have been studying ecological succession of sessile invertebrates on porcelain plates. Using this knowledge, I hope to find a better use of used porcelain that will eventually end up in landfills. In the last few years, I have gained many important leadership and research skills including, but not limited to, project management, data analysis, and statistical skills. Additionally, I have had experience in various paid internships and academic programs. I am summer 2013 alumni of The Island School in Cape Eluethera, Bahamas. Currently, I am a data manager for the New York Harbor SEALS, a citizen scientist program. I plan to go to a university and study either microbiology or bio-medical engineering focusing on pathological studies. I hold a current PADI Open Water Scuba Diving licence and will be working on Sabbatis adventure camp over the summer as a waterfront lifeguard.
