Reflection Topics

  • R2.2 Forces This is a unit we spent a lot of time on last year, so this will be mainly a review with some practice on harder problems.  Use this discussion are to help each other out with issues that are still troubling you about forces and Newton's Laws, and also to respond to the following promptsHow did you feel the pace went this unit ... was enough time spent on review appropriate?  was the time spent on new material appropriate.Did you feel the force medley activity helped you understand how the material applies to real life activities? What were your biggest issues when solving problems that involve the use of Newton's 2nd Law and Newton's 3rd Law ...

  • R2.1 Electromagnetic Induction Although this chapter is short it is one of the most important to our daily lives.  Think and write about three objects that we use in our daily lives that make use of Electromagnetic Induction. What was difficult about his unit?  Can you think of anything that might have made it easier to understand after the fact? What did you get out of this unit's lab activity?  Did it help you understand the concepts of Induction?  Were you able to understand the introduction of the concept of the Integral using graphical techniques? Please comment on anything else you think is important.

  • R1.5 Magnetism Magnetism is another "field" concept.  How is it similar to gravitation and electric fields? This is your first experience with vector multiplication involving the cross product and the right hand rule.   How did you do with this new and sometimes difficult concept .. what problems did you have? There are a lot of strange uses of magnetism that you might not have been familiar with.  What was the most surprising thing that uses magnetism and what was surprising about it.

  • R1.4 Ohm’s Law and Circuits Please respond the the following prompts, and post any other questions you might want to discuss with your group. We just did a quick review of Ohm's Law, Current, Voltage, Resitance, Power, etc from last year, and it was up to you to refresh your memory.  Do you feel this was fair to ask?  Would you have preferred more class time dedicated to review, or was it OK to just review it yourself and get up to speed?Circuits can become complicated, and eventually become easier to solve mathematically than theoretically (picking which bulb is brighter, dimmer, etc).  How would you rate your understanding of (A) the mathematical analysis of circuits (loop rule, junction rule, reduction) and (B) your ...

  • R1.3 Electric Potential and Energy How do you see Energy and Potential relate to Field and Force?Which Unit do you think was easier?Do you think it was easier splitting them into two units, of do you think it would have been easier to combine them into one? What do you feel was the most difficult part of this unit?
