I am an Assistant Professor of Global Economic Policy at Boston University's Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies. I am Affiliated Faculty at the Department of Economics  and a Core Faculty Member of the Human Capital Initiative, Global China Initiative and Global Economic Governance Initiative at Boston University Global Development Policy Center. Prior to this, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher of the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Development at the University of Oxford where I was affiliated with St. Anthony's College and the Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE) of the University. Before that I held a Research Economist position at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS). I am an Affiliate Researcher at the United Nations University-Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT). 

From 2020 to 2023, I served as the Coordinator of the Complexity Economics Working Group within the Young Scholars' Initiative at the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET). A former World Bank Africa Fellow, I have consulted for international development organizations, including the World Bank, African Development Bank, UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and European Commission (EU-JRC). 

I hold a PhD in Economics from Maastricht University and United Nations University (UNU-MERIT) in the Netherlands. My research interests focus broadly on development economics, macro development, structural change, global value chains trade, industrial development, jobs and inclusive growth in developing countries, with a particular focus on countries in Africa.
