Established in 2011, Solar Tech Lab is located on the roof of the Department of Energy in Politecnico di Milano - Bovisa Campus.

Its aims are the experimental investigation of electrical and thermal power generation systems based on solar energy.
Solar Tech Lab's mission can be summarized in two objectives:
  1. System optimization and integration with conventional energy sources through the improvements of commercial devices and technologies and through the development of innovative prototypes.
  2. Development of energy forecasting and storage systems to improve the integration with traditional fossil fuel systems.
Solar Tech Lab provides qualified scientific research, technic
al consulting and testing services in the field of photovoltaic, photovoltaic-thermal and concentration systems.
