Welcome to the South of Forest Neighborhood Association

The South of Forest Neighborhood Association (SOFNA) is a community organization composed of residents from the City of Santa Clara who have banded together for the enjoyment and improvement of our neighborhood. As a resource center for neighbors, citizens, and students, this webite provides announcement, our neighborhood newsletter, short articles, guides, full-text documents, and links to related sites.


Bulletin Board

Election for 2009 Board -- Residents of the neighborhood are invited to the fifth annual Ice Cream Social and SOFNA Board Election in September. Watch for the fall edition of the newsletter and for special signs posted around the neighborhood. The announced candidates for the Board provided short campaign statements which you can read here. The new Board will be seated in January of 2009.


HEAT -- Home Emergency Assistance Team training is again available! The next Class begins on March 26th and continues on April 2, 9, 16, & 19th. You must attend all classes in the series to qualify. More information is available here.


SOFNA Newsletter: The March 2008 issue of the Newsletter has been distributed to residences and businesses in our neighborhood. Thanks to the individuals who delivered the newsletter door to door.


Restaurant Picks: On the SOFNA e-mail list, neighbors have been sharing their opinions and recommendations for restaurants, cafes, and eateries in the area. We've posted the list to guide your dining enjoyment


Emergency Preparedness is a topic on our minds these days. Corinne Celio compiled a helpful list of steps you and your neighbors can take.


Neighborhood Watch -- The neighborhood is continuing the activities to organize under the Neighborhood Watch program. To establish block-by-block coverage, we have a team of "street captains" so that there is a contact person for each block. Check the current list of street captains to see who the street captain is for your block.


Ice Cream Social -- Pictures of the 2006 Ice Cream Social are now on-line. Thanks to Dubravko for posting his pictures on KodakGallery.com.

The South of Forest Neighborhood Association (SOFNA)

The mission of the South of Forest Neighborhood Association is to enhance the neighborhood's quality of life and to foster cooperation within the neighborhood and with the extended community.

The goal of this website is to serve as a communication and community-building resource for the association and for all residents of the neighborhood.

The South of Forest Neighborhood

The area in the City of Santa Clara that forms this neighborhhod is bounded by the following streets:

  On the west side,
   the San Tomas Expressway
  On the north side,
   Forest Avenue
  On the east side,
   North Henry Avenue, Dorcich Street, and Winchester Boulevard
  On the south side,
   Stevens Creek Boulevard

The SOFNA maintains an e-mail discussion forum for information and announcements related to our neighborhood and the activities and issues that affect us.
