Introduction

Interdisciplinary Studies in the School of Communications at Howard University is a program that allows students to design their own degree plan in order to better prepare them for emerging careers in communications fields. This 120 credit hour* degree plan includes core courses in communications and 68 credit hours that must be taken outside of the School of Communications. Students choose an interdisciplinary focus area and will select courses from other schools and departments at Howard University with the help of an interdisciplinary committee comprising faculty members from various related disciplines. These students will also complete an internship-practicum, a capstone project, and can choose to take advantage of other experiential learning opportunities such as study abroad, specialized research, etc.

The program will begin accepting applications in Fall 2016 and will commence with a small, competitively-selected cohort of dedicated students.

The 2016 Application Deadline is December 15, 2016 at 5:00PM
