Action Orange Fall 2009

ACTION ORANGE

Social Sculpture

Autumn-Winter 2009-2010

witnesses and denounces

PRISON-INDUSTRIAL-COMPLEX, TORTURE,

MILITARY TERRORISM, REPRESSION OF DISSENT,

CULTURAL & ECONOMIC ENSLAVEMENT.

 Citizens in solidarity with those currently subjected to abuse of their dignity, person, human rights and civil liberties will join to

 PROTEST THIS VIOLENCE

in social sculpture—artistic non-violence.

Weekly Thursday twelve noon action begins on streets and in plazas. No speeches. No signs. No talking.

Fliers will be handed to onlookers who want them. Photos and videos will document the events; this action will eventually reach and inspire inmates.

Wear something bright orange—color of prisoner clothing. Hat, scarf, gloves, tie etc., will mark you as a member of the troupe.

Noon every Thursday—individuals or groups—stand outside in silence; as slowly as you can

turn to face east, west, north, south;

think supportively of those who are not free.

In solidarity with all prisoners, victims of violence, abduction, oppression, injustice,

wear something orange.
