Ryan Schlee Memorial

Ryan Schlee was a former Grand Blanc High School soccer player who was killed in an automobile accident shortly after his 1994 graduation from high school. Ryan was an outstanding person and player, whose dedication to his family, team, and the Grand Blanc community will always be remembered.

For over the past 20 years, the Grand Blanc Community Schools Soccer Parents Inc. has sponsored a fundraising event in Ryan's honor. This annual event provides opportunities for people to come out, get involved, and celebrate the game of soccer in memory of Ryan. Furthermore, this event raises money for student scholarships and helps to defray the cost of the soccer team activities throughout the seasons.

With the support from our generous sponsors and involvement of many parents of soccer players, we have been able to make tremendous field and facility improvements for our soccer teams and players. Past projects have included: a sprinkler system; field improvements such as leveling, seeding, sodding, and removal of asphalt; installation of fencing to allow for separate practice areas; installation of heaters in the soccer dugouts; replacing soccer goals; updating and improving of concession stand; adding storage to the locker room; and rebuilding of steps leading to press box. We are currently reviewing further ways to improve our players and spectators soccer experience as they attend events at Grand Blanc.

We could not achieve these accomplishments without the continued support of our community members, businesses, and organizations.

In Ryan’s memory, scholarships have been awarded to these deserving recipients:
