Our first meeting for the '15-16 season is on Tuesday September 8th, 7pm at the State Police Barracks on Rt.26.
The Gray trail system is now closed for the season to all traffic. Please respect the landowners and stay off the trails until May 15th, when they will reopen to ATV traffic in designated areas. Thanks to all that helped make keep the trails in great shape this winter!
Spring conditions are upon us. With warm days and cold nights the trails should be rideable for another couple weeks, however keep an eye out for rocks/stumps, etc. that have been hidden all winter under the snowpack. Please be careful if you go out on the lakes as any areas with current are beginning to open up. Grooming operations are currently on hold as the base is rock solid, however if we receive more snow we may get out again. Thanks to the volunteers that helped keep the entire trail system open this year as well as all of our landowners!
Due to logging operations, the trail from Cambell Shore rd to Mtn View rd. is closed as of Feb 23rd.
It goes without saying that we have plenty of snow, now we just need some time between storms to break out the trails! All the banks at the road crossings, etc. need to be knocked down and shoveled out again before we can get across with the groomers and drags. It is a lot of work, so anyone out riding, please take a minute to help bust the banks down, and pack the trail out wide. On the south side of town (pole line trails, Cole Farms trail, Dutton Hill trail) need to be packed out wide before the S10 can get out there to establish a base and pan with the drag. This snow has very little moisture in it and is very tough to get through. On the West side of town we use Super wide tracks and Skandics with Mogul Master drags and our biggest obstacle are banks at the road crossings. Please stop by our next meeting or drop us an email if you want to jump in and help, we are always looking for new members!
Our entire trail system is now open. We have anywhere from 24-30" of snow! Once the trails are packed out we will be able to get out and start grooming.
Our next meeting is Tuesday February 10th, 7pm at the State Police Barracks on Rt.26, hope to see you all there
