Trails Closed for Season 3-31-14

posted Mar 31, 2014, 3:36 PM by Gray SnoWolves

Due to the heavy rains this past weekend, the entire Gray trail system is closed to ALL traffic for the remainder of spring and through mud season.  Please respect the landowners and stay off the trails until May 15th when certain sections reopen for ATV use during the summer months.  If you rode our trails this winter, we would love to have you become a member.  Only a handful of us that keep all 39 miles open.  Every fall there are new signs to put up, bridges to be built, grooming equipment to prep and run, landowner relations to address, fundraising activities to plan, the list goes on and on, and we are always looking for new members to help out and keep our trail system in great shape!  Hope everyone has a great summer and look forward to another snowy winter next year!

Trail Update 3-19-14

posted Mar 19, 2014, 7:53 AM by Gray SnoWolves

Trails remain open on the Gray trail system.  Due to last weeks rain, our grooming operations are on hold.  Still plenty of snow in the woods, but a very solid, icy base.  Look out for rocks, etc. that are becoming exposed near road crossing, fields, etc as the March sun has some strength and is starting to win the battle.

Lots of inquiries on where to obtain a local trail map.  You can buy one at Big Apple on Rt.100 and Circle K on Rt.26.

Trail Update 2-7-14

Finally some fresh snow!  We'll be out packing and panning the trails this weekend.  All trails are open and in good shape.

Trail Update 1-25-14

posted Jan 25, 2014, 4:26 AM by Gray SnoWolves

The Gray trail system is open, however expect early season conditions due to last weeks warm up and rain.  The trails are passable, as we still have a good base, but it is icy with a little fresh snow on top.  We will not be able to groom again until we get another snowstorm.

Trail Update 1-16-14

posted Jan 16, 2014, 3:53 PM by Gray SnoWolves

With the recent warm up and significant amount of rain over the last week, please stay off the trails out of respect of our landowners property. Looks like the cold air is making a return soon and will lock things back in.  Hopefully a snowstorm soon after.  Once we have an adequate snow pack, we'll update the site with another trail update.  Until then, do your best snow dance!

Grooming Update 1-1-14

posted Jan 1, 2014, 9:49 AM by Gray SnoWolves

West Gray trails from Windham to High School have been cleared and groomed as of today.  The S10 groomer has also groomed Gray plaza and the pole line trail to the Cumberland/N. Yarmouth intersection and up to the Windham turnaround on the pole line beyond Dutton Hill rd.  Lots of hard work to get these trails opened.  We still need to clear the Libby Hill trail, Circle K/Crystal lake trail, and the connector from the High School down to Rt.115 and Big apple.  Anyone out riding, please help brush the trails so we can get these opened up and groomed as well!  Have fun on the snow!

Trail Help Needed

posted Jan 1, 2014, 6:22 AM by Gray SnoWolves

Lots of tree damage from the recent ice storm and snowfall.  It takes a huge effort to clear this amount of debris from the trails.  Please bring a chainsaw and/or brush clippers if you head out and help us get them opened up.  Once the trails are cleared, we will begin grooming.

Trails open 12-19

The Gray Snowmobile trail system is open for the season, and grooming will commence once trails are opened up/packed out.  ATV's are not allowed on the snowmobile trail system during the winter, please respect landowners and stay on the marked trail.  The new trail maps have been printed and will be dropped off to area businesses this weekend.  Hope to see you all out there, and swing by our next meeting if you ride our trails.  Would love to have some new members join the club.
