We hope you've had a wonderful summer and fall enjoying the Cascades and trails around the world. We are hopeful for a full season of snow and plenty of days on the XC trails!

To that end, check out this year's schedule of events. These dates are tentative for now, but we'll confirm them here once the snow begins to fall.

Mark your calendars for a season kickoff event on Sunday, Nov. 22, at Discovery Park in Seattle. We'll do a pole hike around the park, then meet afterward at treasurer Linda Schwartz's house in Ballard for a potluck. Watch for more details to be emailed out soon.

Need new gear or want to exchange the skis you're not using anymore? Come to our 2015 ski swap, Friday, Dec. 4, 6-9 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Seattle.

  • Start the season with dryland training at Woodland Park
Get out your ski poles, running shoes and head lamps because it's time for our annual dryland training sessions to begin!!

    When: Tuesday evenings, 6:45-8:15 p.m.

Where: Woodland Park (meet by tennis courts near the soccer fields/track)

What to bring: Classic length (or shorter) poles, running gear/shoes and HEADLAMP with extra batteries (a headlamp that works is essential!).

These workouts are really great for specific strength building and basic aerobic endurance to prepare you for the upcoming Nordic ski season. We start with stretching, and then do a circuit workout in the woods with stations for step ups, dips, various hill bounding drills, push ups, etc., with pole-jogging in between.

Skiers of all abilities are encouraged to come, especially junior racers!

For more information: Please email Marla at to RSVP (tell and bring your friends!)
