Valerie died on September 20, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida after experiencing declining health for a number of years.  She was born on August 15, 1961 in Springfield, Ohio to Phillip and Carol (Harvitt) Hanes.  She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and is survived by her sister, Jennifer Sue Mullins, niece Tayler Jo (Cole) Krumpak and nephew Thomas (Lexi) Mullins.  Valerie graduated from the School of Allied Medical Professions of The Ohio State University in 1983 and became a licensed physical therapist.  She initially returned to Springfield after graduation where she worked as a physical therapist at Mercy Medical Center.  She eventually moved to Jacksonville, Florida and continued her physical therapy career.  She loved her cats and rooting for her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.   Valerie lived her life with love and faith..
