Thursday-Monday, April 19 - 23 - Clear Lake (Camping Trip) - Trip Leader > Wendy Thibeault

Clear Lake Campground  (previously named Shady Acres) - Campgrounds do fill up quickly so reserve your spot on Reserve America or call the campground directly at 707 994-2236.
WHERE: Clear Lake at the Eastern side of the lake.  Approximate cost is $50 per night. Most sites have hook ups. Some sites on the creek are small. Check the Reserve America map.
PADDLE LOCATIONS: One day we will paddle Rodman Slough at the north end of the lake near North Lakeport, Andersen Marsh near the campground and the third day spot will be determined later.

Monday-Friday, May 14 -18 - Pardee Lake Recreation Area (Camping Trip) - Trip Leader > Lucinda Beatty

Join us for our first camping trip at Pardee Lake Reservoir in Amador County on Monday, May 14 through Friday, May 18. The campground is located at 4900 Stony Creek Road in Ione, a little over 2 hours from Nevada City. The park is in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range just twelve miles southwest of Jackson. The facility is reachable from Highway 88 or Highway 12 and is near the Jackson Rancheria Casino. Average temperatures during this time have been in lower 80s during the day and upper 40s at night.
We’ll be kayaking Pardee Reservoir as well as a couple other lakes within 20 minutes of our campsite. Power boats are permitted on these lakes but should be minimal since we will be kayaking mid-week before the summer season begins. Since Pardee is an EBMUD drinking water source, the law prohibits body-water contact, personal watercraft, water skiing and lake swimming. Intermediate skill level since we may have some wind on the open sections of the lakes. Estimating our paddles to be 8 - 15 miles, depending on the interest of the group.

Please contact Lucinda for information on campground reservations and trip signup.

Monday-Thursday, June 11 -14 - DL Bliss (Camping Trip) - Trip Leader > Laurie Appling and  Dennis Coulter
Think hot weather and sunshine as we prepare for the next paddling season!  DL Bliss State Park will be our home base as we paddle Lake Tahoe in June. We will paddle as a group on Tuesday and Wednesday. Those interested can pack up early on Thursday to join in a final paddle.   Intermediate skills required as Lake Tahoe can become very windy & wavy.  Spray squirts required for boats with cockpits. Paddles will be about 7 to 12 miles depending on how the wind/weather is going to be for the day.
A group site for 3 nights, June 11-14, has been reserved for tent/mini van campers.  It can accommodate 10 cars and 20 people.  Those individuals with trailers will need to reserve a regular site.  Our group size will be limited to 20 so please let us know a.s.a.p. if you will be joining us and whether you will be in the group site or a private site with #.
Search for "D.L. Bliss"
More information will follow as the date gets closer but we will plan to do a group potluck on Tuesday and Wednesday night with Monday night dinner on your own, preceded by a gathering for games and cocktails and followed by a group campfire.

Tuesday-Friday, July 10 -13 - Twin Lakes (Camping Trip) - Trip Leader > Marlee Chamberlin

We will be camping at Crags Campground near Bridgeport down Hwy. 395 on the eastern side of the Sierras.  We will paddle Twin Lakes one day and Mono Lake the other day.  Intermediate skill levels are necessary as afternoon winds usually come up on Mono Lake.  Distances will be roughly 7 to 12 miles.

The group site is currently full.  I will start a wait list for anyone who may be interested. If you prefer an individual camp site you may be able to make a reservation on  The closest loop to the group site contains site #03-#26.  Please let me know what site you reserve. There will be a two night pot luck.  There are some wonderful hikes in the area that we may also do.

Thursday-Sunday, August 2 - 5 - Loon Lake (Camping Trip) - Trip Leaders > Lani and Ron Brunmeier

During the month of August our club will be paddling and camping at the beautiful Loon Lake. This lake is one of our groups favorite lakes.
We will be camping in a campground near the lake in the El Dorado National Forest  at an elevation of 6400 feet.
The lake is rimmed with granite formations and islands also hiking opportunities are available.

We have selected loop B to gather for camping and will need to be prepared to reserve a site on February 2nd for the camping dates of August 2 - 5.
The loop has water and restroom facilities with sites 20-30 feet max vehicle length. More details will follow, but Ron and I wanted to get information out about the camp reservations.

Loon Lake reservations:
You may reserve your campground reservations at Reserve (We have selected loop C)
Reserve at earliest date of February 2, 2018

Please let us know if you will be joining this club event and if you are going to camp. A day trip is also an option with travel time of 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours drive.

Lani and Ron Brunmeier.

Thursday-Saturday, September 13 - 17 (4 nights) - Tomales Bay/Pt Reyes-Samuel P. Taylor State Park (Camping Trip) - Marilyn and Dick Lyon

Hopefully you have all gone onto the site at , have an account, and are ready to get a site at 8:00 a.m. on March 13.  The group site is full (but check with me before the 13th because there may be someone you could ride with).  We will be paddling Tomales on Sat. and Drake's Estero on Sun.  It will be required that you have taken the rescue clinic.  If you have not done so, we will be having another one in August.  Drake's will be about a 9 - 10 miles paddle.  Tomales will be the same.  Be forewarned, the winds can kick up in the afternoon so a spray skirt is advised.  Pot luck and hiking info. will come out later.

Wednesday, October 3 - Sunday, October 7 - Elkhorn Slough (Camping Trip)- CANCELLED - Trip Leaders > Joe & Diana Abrell
The road to the Kirby Park parking lot and launching ramp is closed indefinitely due to storm damage last winter.
That means we cannot paddle Elkhorn Slough this fall. So do not make reservations at Sunset State Beach.
