Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

Title: Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls



If you like cabbage rolls this is the easy way to get the taste.



1 LB Ground chuck

8 cups cabbage, cut in 1 inch chunks

1 cup onion chopped

1/2 cup water

1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes

1 TB brown sugar

1 or 2 TB vinegar

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/2 tsp caraway seeds

1 tsp granulated garlic




In a large skillet brown the ground meat & pour off grease. Add the chopped onion & cook for about 3 min. to soften onion. Add the cabbage & water & cook about 5 min. or until cabbage starts to wilt. Add rest of ingredients & bring to a boil, turn down heat, cover & simmer about 30 to 45 min. or till cabbage is tender. Serve with white rice.


Note: You can add any ingredients you use to make cabbage rolls, I have added oregano. I used 1 ½ lbs. ground chuck and a whole head of cabbage and the rest of the ingredients were good but did add a little more water.
