Don's Ohio Shrimp Boil

1 lb shrimp, raw shells on

1 lb smoked sausage cut in 1 inch pieces

1 slice smoked bacon

8 to 10 new red potatoes cut in half

4 ears fresh corn broken in thirds

1 small head of cabbage cut in wedges

1 large onion cut in fourths

2 bay leaves

2 cloves garlic smashed

1 Tbs. Old Bay seasoning

2 Tbs. Zataraines liquid shrimp boil

2 Tbs. coarse salt

A large pot with a basket is ideal for doing this, simply lift out the basket when done. Fill your pot with water, about 2 gal, add the seasonings and bay leaves & when it comes to a boil add the cabbage wedges. Be sure & leave the core in to the wedges  together. Cook the cabbage for 45 min. & sometime throw in the slice of bacon. After 45 min. add the sausage, potatoes, onions, & garlic & cook another 20 min. Then add the corn & after 5 min. add the shrimp for a final 3 to 5 min. Lift out the basket & let drain, pour on a large tray to serve. Enough for 4 people.
