The Interact SIP Client is the first Android client designed to target the ININ, or Interactive Intelligence, Customer Interaction Center ( CIC ) platform. This app allows you to use your Android device (if supported, see notice below) as a station in CIC. You can configure a station and register to the CIC server (see configuration below) or you can register to an Interaction SIP Proxy Server and configure your own routing from there. This allows you to roam the office on wifi and still be available for calls.
FEATURES
The Interact SIP Client provides the following features:
CONFIGURATION
This section will cover configuring your android device as a station. Ensure you have a line that will allow access on the port you wish to use. If you have the default lines that are created during installation, you should be able to use 8060 to register your device. The station creation is pretty straight forward, follow the normal steps as usual until and upon finishing ensure you do the following:
Under the configuration tab > session > set the media timing to Normal instead of delayed (this will cause SDP to be sent with the invite)
Under the configuration tab > Addresses > Ensure the Identification Address is set to use User Portion Only and that Obtain settings automatically is selected
NOTICE
The Interact SIP Client is built with the Android SIP API. This API is not supported by all manufacturers or carriers. Please use the free app SIP API Tester to determine if your phone is compatible. If your device supports the SIP API and VoIP, it may not be limited to wifi. Although your phone may not have this limitation, your carrier may. This app has not been tested on non wifi networks and the SIP API does not mention support for NAT traversal at this time. |
